Hello all,

At FOSDEM, during the 2nd day of Womoz workshop we
discussed about creating a channel of community leaders in order to help
new people to get involved in the project (to help them find the
appropriate project, area, etc.). Since then I've been working with
Delphine and other people to develop this idea into a more concrete
concept.
As you probably saw from Delphine's last call notes, we
have been discussing also with David (MoFo) to see how we can
integrate
the existing contribute group (mozilla.org Get Involved page) with the newcomers
channel.

I think that the next step would be to identify active community
members (and community leaders) who may help on building this
"newcomers"
channel. Then, we can work together on searching for the best methods
to offer answers and guidance to people
interested in contributing.
This is currently happening on marketing list as there are some active
marketing contributors helping the newcomers.
Anyway, I would love
to have feedback on this and start a discussion here, for the moment.

Cheers,
Alina

--
Alina Mierluș
Free Software and Open Internet Advocate
http://www.alinamierlus.com
http://identi.ca/alinamierlus
