Yup, I'm starting to move things over here to get some support to
formulate a detailed proposal on the steps to take. I'm thinking along
the lines I explained in my previous emails and in FOSDEM:
1) Define a clear, objective and measureable goal. Probably the number
of women involved.
2) Identify the most remarkable obstacles for women and girls not
joining. This will probably imply defining target groups that could
have similar characteristics, probably according to age, studies,
culture, etc.
3) Identify the causes of the women and girls not staying in the projects
4) Propose suitable ways and measures to handle those problems
5) Define a way (probably one or more surveys) to be able to
prioritize the problems and solutions proposed, according to the
Pareto Law (20% of the causes imply 80% of the problems).
Hypothetic-Deductive Method: the survey shall be defined in a way that
confirms or denies our hypothesis
6) Try to implement the measures selected
7) Permanent and regular review of the whole cycle
This is a very general overview of the idea. I'm trying to get some
more specific input on the way to achieve this, talking to people I
know and getting some feedback. Any other ideas?
Greetings,
Miry
